Summer to Fall

The White Frame Events team hates to say sayonara to bikins and bbqs ! Luckily, we live and work in sunny San Diego where there is no need to brace ourselves for faux fur jackets and inside only get togethers just yet.  Still, the White Frames team likes to be one step ahead of the crowd. Late summer gives us more time to fully investigate, and evaluate, fall event trends.  Here's a quick look at two of the trends the WFE team  is reveling in for the upcoming fall season...

Man Caves!  Man cave is no longer just a fun term to reject when your husband/finance/boyfriend attempts to impede on your oh so well thought out decorating plans; it is now a bonafide WFE endorsed event trend.  No matter how hesitant you may be add it to your vocabulary, ladies.  Fall is embarrassing the sixth grade dance style of event that separates men and women.  Have a corner, or room, at your event which is outfitted with men's "treats" to keep them happy and comfortable.

Lace is taking over fall weddings, from dresses, table cloths, down to the invitations.  The WFE team is on board with this fall favorite.  Lace seems to create that timeless vintage feel all women want.  Years from now you can look back and still be in love with that dress, table or invitation. That's right ladies, lace equals timeless.  It's the most practical of all the wedding trends.

Save money with yummy treats!

The WFE team knows weddings can be expensive, which is why we're always looking for ways to utilize those budgeting skills we all employed in our college, or should I say ramen only diet, days.  Cakes can be expensive and fleeting.  Try cupcakes instead!  No, that doesn't mean you won't get to shove cake in your grooms face.  You can still get the cake cutting and face mashing photo-ops that a full cake allows by having a single sheet cake on top. The guests can then stop by and grab a cupcake as part of the dessert bar!

All The World's a Stage - Especially at Corporate Events

Joy to the world the bore is gone!  One of the newest trends in corporate events is the theater experience, eliminating those sales pitches that make you even less interested in a company/product. That's right everyone from CEO's to interns are trying their hand at acting to stay competitive in today's business climate.  This is the chance for a company to capture the attention of it's audience and gain a following.  This can be useful in a variety of events, from trade-shows to the non-profit gala, where you have a message that is just to vital for your attendees to miss.  Have a bad case of stage fright?  No need to worry, you can always record your act ahead of time and play it on a large screen.  These types of theatrics will surprise and mesmerize your target audience, giving you the opportunity to spread your message; which will no doubt change the world for the benefit of all mankind.

What warm weather means for your party...

Hello sunshine, bye bye overpriced entrees.  'Tis the season to stop hosting expensive indoor parties and take it to the backyard.  Try hosting a themed party for your guests. Just make sure your theme is simple and can be pulled off with class, as if we need to remind our readers, avoiding anything too over the top.  A great beginner party is a good old fashioned barbecue.  This can work well for rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, family gatherings, or company picnics.

The Non-Event Event?

Non-events are the new events!  Try using your list of contacts to sell tickets to...well...nothing.  This takes out all of the costs of creating a fundraiser and leaves all of the money for the charity.  While some may donate for the glory of being recognized at your always fabulous gala others will be happy they don't have to overpay for an outfit and force awkward small talk with that odd ball couple who always ends up in the seat across from YOU.  The only cost to the host is the invitations to the non-event event and a thank you letter for not attending.

Shopbop your heart out with their new wedding boutique

The WFE team is digging the new shopbop wedding boutique. ( http://www.shopbop.com/ci/3/wedding/bridal-and-wedding-2011-no-prelude.html
